Podcast #36: The "Who Gives a Shit What You Think" Episode

This week’s podcast was a spur-of-the-moment episode that was actually inspired by an apparently controversial post I made on Instagram last week.

I wouldn't normally post something with such terrible #grammar AND poorly-written English. 😳 But this shit is #funny AND sooooo needs to be said/shared! 😂 For the record, I am ALL for #Jacked #GymDudes looking #stylish whilst they #workout. 👍🏼 And damn rights, I get all warm & tingly down there 😏 when I see #MuscleyMen #deadlifting like savage beasts. 😍 And I even admit that I am totally one of those chicks who wants to look good and #coordinated at the #gym myself. And I even wear #skintight #leggings to show off my nicely #sculpted #vegan #walnutcrusher. 🍑 BUTT all this being said, if you are a #GymBro and you're rocking a @gymshark outfit, I'm sorry but that's a #dealbreaker. 🤢 And I don't care how big your calves are or how much weight you can bench! Just don't #gymshark, bro. 🙅🏻 Just looking out for the #meatheadnation out there! 💪🏽😘 #JackedontheBeanstalk 💪🏽😬🌿#trainingadvice #meatlessmeathead #gymmemes

What is GymShark for men? To give you some context, here are a couple of pics I just ripped off the internet…

And apparently the GymShark meme (which was merely a JOKE) offended a lot of my vegan fitness followers. So much so, that we Shorkey sisters thought it would be funny to discuss this GymShark meme uproar on the podcast.

And more specifically, we wanted to discuss how we all just need to chill out and learn to stop caring so damn much what other people are going to think of the things we say and do on social media!

I had to learn a long time ago that I can’t make everyone in this world happy or like me. But I also find it interesting that in our now, heavily internet-based world that we live in, we have become so desensitized to things like sex and nudity on instagram, yet we can be sooooo overly sensitive to things like an opinion of a fitness apparel brand.

We also get into the importance of BEING REAL and authentic with our online profiles and how my most popular posts to date are still the ones where I’m either being incredibly vulnerable about my romantic life (read “The Unhealthy Pursuit of Perfection”) or uber-personal discussing our not-so-attractive bodily functions (read “The Vegan Bodybuilder’s Guide to Farting and Bloating.”)

And while we’re on the topic of bodily functions and gross blog titles, for anyone interested in making my “Prune Squares” with Vanilla Tofu Pudding which we also discuss on this week’s podcast, here ’tis the recipe:

pms relief dessert prune squares with high protein vanilla tofu pudding

They taste better than they look, I promise!

It’s a short but sweet episode indeed. But a good little discussion we hope you’ll appreciate. And even if you don’t, we don’t give a shit. 😉

You two are hilarious!!! So you lost some followers, big deal. No PR is bad PR you got people talking about you and taking action – those are strong feelings you elicited! If nobody’s hating in you you’re not doing it right. Can’t wait for the next podcast!!!
