Podcast #29: My Random "Vegan Hippie" Hair and Skincare Tips

Podcast #29: My Random "Vegan Hippie" Hair and Skincare Tips

I fully admit that this week’s podcast is a random one. But I often get asked about my favourite vegan skin care and hair products. And although I still love me some Kevin Murphy hair spray and Derma-e face scrub, my beauty product arsenal really has changed a lot in the last year.

I do elaborate on WHY I’ve done a complete overhaul of my beauty products in more detail here.

But the “gist of it” is that I am beyond terrified of putting toxic chemicals into and onto my sacred, lil’ vegan bod.

But at the same time, I’m equally terrified of getting wrinkles and losing that youthful, Shorkey glow I’ve worked so damn hard to maintain since–no joke–grade eight. 🙂

Thankfully, I like to think that I’ve finally mastered a pretty effective “vegan hippie” skin care regimen in the last year. And the best part of all is that this little morning routine of mine doesn’t even include the purchase of any special products or brand names.

Yes, this week on the podcast, I’m sharing my all-natural, tried-and-true, vegan beauty secrets with you!

And I’m even throwing in what I’ve been doing to grow out my hair since making the mistake of bleaching and dying it neon red last summer.

Anywho, the best part about these hair and skin care tips o’ mine is that you can buy any and all of these ingredients at your local health food store.

Pretty much!

I’m essentially all about the essential oils, baby! And **knock on wood** it’s done my body (and hair) good so far! So give this week’s podcast episode a listen and get slathering, guys!

Haha well I definitely have the muscle mass for it now! The question is, do I really want to diet for it?!?! Those figure girls have to diet sooooooo hard. And I love food soooooooo much. But I have thought about it from time to time. We shall see, dearest Kendya. We shall see :)

I know you’re a vegan bikini model winner (Arnold Classic?) but I’d like you to compete as a figure model (yeah I know it would be a ton of work but you could do it cuz you’re a personal trainer). It would be nice to have the top figure model be a Vegan too (and be YOU of course), You could share your training journal and create a podcast about it.

I noticed a pattern here… every time I hear one of your podcasts on my way to work: I feel SO much more energetic, proactive, and motivated!! All the topics have been truly awesome and very informative (especially the beauty regime one that I just heard). Keep it up, guys! <3
